A recent tramway system makes the city greener and less polluted. You are now even able to reach the city centre from the airport with the tramway.

There are several theatres like the “National Theatre of Nice”, the convention centre “Acropolis” and the “Opéra Garnier” situated in the old town.

A diversity of food from all over the world is served in the many restaurants and you can enjoy performances from live musicians in a jazz bar, etc.
Housing
The city offers mostly apartments. You find residential areas on the western hill often with a sea view and a pool. In the centre the older bourgeois buildings dominate. The old town has its own charm and on the eastern hill after the vivid harbour (where the ferries to Corsica depart) you can find numerous more expensive apartments.
CANNES
Cannes – the city of movie stars
is a famous hot spot for the Film Festival since 1946. You will find upscale apartments, magnificent hotels, luxury stores, and fancy restaurants around La Croisette & Palais des Festivals.
The population of around 76 000 will almost double during the Film festival in May and also during other congresses like the Property Market exhibition.
Within a 20-minute boat ride you can reach the beautiful Islands of Lerins, famous for preserved nature, the monastery, the old prison cells, etc.

In Cannes you find luxury villas and apartment complexes with pools and parking on the hillsides facing the sea. In the centre there are apartments with the charm of high ceilings but also typically buildings from the 1960s-1990s. The old town proposes picturesque townhouses. Neighbouring areas like Mandelieu and Le Cannet are more affordable.
ANTIBES
Antibes - a coastal town with roman origins
has a well-known harbour giving berth to many of the world’s most famous yachts. Juan les Pins is where you find sandy beaches and many restaurants along the sea promenade. You can enjoy a walk on the cliff path along the peninsula Cap d’Antibes and admire the sailing boats going off to the islands outside Cannes.

Several bus lines serve Sophia Antipolis, Cannes, Nice etc. The airport-coach is very convenient. By train you will reach Paris in five and half hours, Monaco in 45 minutes and Cannes in 10 minutes. You can now bike along the coast to Nice or Cannes, mostly on a secured bike lane.

Several bus lines connect the village to the larger bus hubs in Sophia Antipolis, Cannes, and Antibes. In the centre of Sophia Antipolis an express bus serves people living in Nice. There are several bike paths to connect the village to the Science Park.

The village itself has older townhouses and some newer buildings on the outskirts. You can find villas with garden and swimming-pool, from 5 to 15 minutes from the centre.
