A major step in life
Allison and her husband had always dreamt of moving to France. After 15 years in Seattle their dream came true.
Relocation to Nice
In 2008 the Nice based clothing company Faconnable hired the couple. They then, along with their 3 young kids aged 4, 6 and 8, took the biggest step in their life by moving to the French Riviera!
A pro-active relocation support
The Smith family, arriving as expats, were quickly helped by Azur-Plus Relocation to find a home. “ Our relocation support was fantastic, our agent was very pro-active and helped us to choose a town and then presented a variety of properties as well as schooling options” says Allison.
Settling-in to the town of Vence
Finally the couple decided to move into a provençal house in the town of Vence, with easy access to the office outside Nice. Later, as the kids grew older, they moved to Valbonne to be closer to the international schools they attended.
A new challenge for Allison
The year is 2018 and Allison decides to take up a new challenge, but this time in France! “I have always dreamed of doing something in hospitality. I love serving the community and visitors by providing sustainable and healthy food” says Allison.
A healthy coffee shop & general store in Nice.
Together with two business partners, she opened “Le Country Store” on Rue de l’Hôtel des Postes in Nice, blending French and the American lifestyle. The shop serves a variety of coffee, homemade organic vegan & gluten free cakes and their speciality; American-style scones. It was a success, and last summer they opened a second shop next to the famous park Couléé Verte on rue Félix Faure.
Allison about moving to France
“My experience of our move to France is that we as a family came closer together, and I as a person became much more observant to different cultures. I also love to live in the South of France, the climate is fantastic!”
